Hop City Craft Beer & Wine Coming to the Westside

westside-Hop-City-Lee-WhiteThe bottle shop and craft bar Hop City Craft Beer & Wind will join the Lee + White Development on the Westside of Atlanta. The 6,000 square foot location will be next to Monday Night Brewing.

It will include a second floor restaurant with a deck and garage doors, and it’s expected to open fall 2018.

Newk’s Eatery Coming to Howell Mill Rd. Area

It will take up two suites which were formally rented by Mama Niki’s Pizza. The other restaurants at Howell Mill Square are American Deli, Chin Chin, and Subway.

Student Apartments on the Westside Breaks Ground

westside-Theory-West-Midtown-A new building on the Westside called Theory West Midtown has broken ground this month. It will consist of two 5-level apartment buildings, a retail space, and parking.

The builder, developed by Peak Campus, will be reserved for Georgia Tech students. There will be one to five bedroom apartments that are fully furnished.

There will be a resort-style pool, roof top deck, fitness center, business center, study/conference areas, package locker system, and bike storage.

The retail space will be 10,500 square feet. Raku Ramen has signed a lease so far. The building is set to open in the fall of 2019. The exact address is 806 Marietta St. To see what it’s like to live on the Westside, see here.

New Craft Brewery and Tasting Room Opening in the Westside

westside-Steady-Hand-Beer-Co-Plans were filed with the City of Atlanta for a new craft brewery and tasting room on the Westside.

The brewery will be called Steady Hand Beer Co, and it will occupy the 14,000 square foot space. The space is in the same building across the street from Top Golf. It currently houses Le Fais do-do.

The projected is expected to cost $250,000. The exact address is 1611 Ellsworth Industrial Blvd.

“We are excited to launch this project and you can follow our progress as we get closer to opening,” the Steady Hand Beer Co. said.

 

Bike Lanes Coming to Westside’s Marietta Street

westside-marietta-stThe part of Marietta Street which runs for Howell Mill Rd. to Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard is getting repaved and adding bike lanes. It will also get a protected center lane. There will also be upgrades to the sidewalks.

The plans (part of the Renew Atlanta Bond Package) call for taking the existing four lanes—with two lanes in each direction—down to one lane in each direction It also calls for a center turn lane and dedicated five-foot-wide bike lanes on either side.

Additionally, the intersection with Howell Mill Road will be reconfigured, while existing parallel parking will be preserved south of the North Avenue bridge. For more about Westside developments, see here.

New Coffee Shop Coming to Westside Provisions

westside-mashburn-coffee.pngPlans were filed with the City of Atlanta for the buildout of a new coffee shop called Mashburn Coffee on the Westside. The shop would reside in Westside Provisions District mixed-use development.

The 1,816 square foot space which will be next to and owned by the Ann Mashburn Store, currently houses the boutique G. Gilbert.

100K Square Foot Development Going up in Westside on Moores Mills

The 100,000 square foot mixed-use space would offer trail and loft office space. 51,000 square feet would be a warehouse conversion, and 45,000 would be new construction.

The exact location is 2260 Marietta Boulevard on the Westside of Atlanta, and would be called Westside Village at Moores Mills. Eden Rock Real Estate Partners is looking to do the development. Westside Village could also include the repurposing of a 3,500-square-foot church into a restaurant as well as 19 luxury townhomes.

“The center will focus on the wellness and productivity of the entire family,” says Brandon Ashkouti, an Eden partner. “We’re excited to collaborate with the city in order to make the necessary transportation upgrades, as well as other developers as we seek to create this family-friendly, walkable retail area.”
